But the way she was hitting the instrument with one hand with five fingures was amazing

Yes today i was looking for folk music of china. I was very much impressed by Pipa Solo by Liu Fang of China. It was a good solo presentation.

The thing i was thinking seriously was its comparison with Indian classical music. Difficulty wise the string instrument she was playing is similar to indian equivalent Sarod (the Indian String Instrument). Sarod is recognised to be one of the most difficult instrument.

But the way she was hitting the instrument with one hand with five fingures was amazing. It was perfection itself. With confidence and a rare seriousness.

So many takes and pauses were similar to Indian Classical One. There were certain compositions like Sitar's 'Jhala' (hitting hard to the instrument at high tempo).

I was very happy to see she was encouraged, recognised and invited by so many places in the west. This is something very important for artist.

I liked the Chinese softness of presentation be it music, conversation, art or any other form. A slight glimpses of element of mystery. They are really a very delicate culture with lots of ancient wisdom.
